“Obstacles are things a person sees when he takes his eyes off his goal.”- E. Joseph Cossman

I apologize that I’ve been AWOL for the past 24 hours. This week has been very busy. I was at rehearsal until 11pm last night and had to come back to my apartment and do homework. Thank you for your kind comments and for reading! Please be patient with me this week and next! 🙂

Since I didn’t post last night, I didn’t get the chance to share my dinner. I tried tofu for the first time last night, and it was actually pretty good! I mixed it with some fresh ginger and lemon along with some veggies I had in the fridge.

I paired it with some fresh strawberries and cooked barley grain (topped with feta). Very tasty and filling for my long rehearsal! 🙂

This morning, I woke up groggy and not ready to face the day. The weather is gloomy here in Florida and all I wanted to do was roll over and go back to sleep. Oh well, no rest for the weary!

For breakfast I had some Greek yogurt mixed with pumpkin, whole grain oat mix (I’ll post more about this at another time- it’s delicious!), and a few almonds. I also had two egg whites (which I forgot to photograph… but you’ve seen enough egg whites on this site to know. 😉 )

I had lunch early (at around 11) because I don’t have any other time during the day to eat. I wasn’t too hungry so I stuck to a simple lunch of a salad topped with feta, carrot sticks, snow peas, and another (!) Greek yogurt.

I was originally planning on running 5 miles today but I dropped it down to 4 for two reasons. First being that it’s yucky outside so I have to go to the gym and run miles on the treadmill. Second being that I only have 2 and a half hours between my last class and rehearsal to run, shower, eat, and get into hair and makeup.

I must give a big shout out to my mother. She is seriously one of the best people I know. When I called her Sunday night to ask her if she could come up for a few days and help me stay calm, she didn’t hesitate. She arrived yesterday and she has been so helpful. Thanks Mom! I love you! ❤

Finally, I need some advice. My rehearsals are from 7-10 (or 11)pm and I don’t know whether to eat dinner before or after. Yesterday I ate it before, but I was hungry by the time I got back at 11. On Monday night, I ate it after rehearsal but I don’t like eating so late at night. Any suggestions on what I should do? What do you do when you have to eat dinner late at night?

Thank you again for being so great! Have a wonderful day! The weekend is almost here!

I would suggest eating dinner before rehearsal and then if you are hungry after rehearsal having a protein shake. Having a shake would fill you up but it won’t be too many carbs or sit heavily in your stomach through the night. That’s my advice 😀

By the way thank you so much for the card, I just got it today. I’m sure it came weeks ago but I never check my mail because we always get someone else’s.

I vote along with Taylor. My sked is crazy so am usually eating late at night. I normally would suggest a filler food (veggies) but with your schedule…protein is a good choice. It’ll stick to your ribs more.

Funny today when all my FL relatives called to comment on “cold” Fall weather there…sounded colder than here in VA.

Yeppers, your mom is awesome. Looks like the apple didn’t fall far from the tree! Tell her hello from me.
