Where did the weekend go?

October 25, 2010

I woke up with the Monday Morning Blues which seemed to last throughout most of the day. It probably was due to a lack of sleep last night. I honestly felt like I was dragging ALL day until I went on my run this afternoon (more about that later!). First, it’s food time!

I was feeling very uncreative this morning so my breakfast was pretty boring.

Some pumpkin and cinnamon mixed with some Greek yogurt with egg whites and salsa. Essentially what I have every morning. What can I say, I’m a creature of habit. 😉

After 2 classes this morning, I raced back to my apartment to finish my news article before 1pm. I sipped on a Green Monster smoothie.

It contained a handful of spinach, 1/2 cup frozen strawberries, 1/2 cup almond milk, and a scoop of vanilla whey protein powder. It tastes better than it looks, I promise! 🙂

I also had a small salad with some tuna and carrots.

This afternoon I went for a 3 mile run. Originally I was going to do a speed work session but we had a bit of a warm day here in North Florida so I changed my plans. According to The Weather Channel, it felt like 90 degrees at 5:30 when I went for my run, so I decided to do my 3 miles at RACE PACE. Here are my splits:

Mile 1: 7:35
Mile 2: 7:55 (15:30)
Mile 3: 8:05 (23:35)

Not too bad! The run more or less put me in a better mood so that’s what’s important.

Finally, I was looking at some race photos from the Race for Fetal Hope 5K I ran a few weeks ago and I found one of me that made me laugh out loud! 😀

I look rather Herculean don’t you think? That, or it looks like I smelled something bad! Haha…

Off to make some dinner and then relax! What a day it’s been!

Haha… OMG that is a great photo of you at the race. Even the people around you look like they smelled something bad! Your green monster drink sounds interesting but I would have to shut my eyes to drink it – lol. Glad your day ended on a higher note. Love ya sweetie. Mom
